I had the STILLEN racing brakes on for a while, but they were warped...so i put the stock brake system back on just to make it drive able.

i called around San Diego to see who can turn my rotors...NOBODY WOULD DO IT.....

I called STILLEN so ask if i can send the rotors back to them to have them turned, or if they had a location here in San Diego that could turn them for me. They say that you cannot turn them b/c they are "performance"

I was like......F that.......My uncle knew someone that has a BUILT BUILT S2000 and he has STILLEN on all 4 corners, and is in close contact with STILLEN. He said that STILLEN just wanted to sell me new rotors, instead of helping me find a place.....he was pissed at STILLEN....so he took them to his shop and turned them himself for FREE!!!!

what a nice person huh!!?!!

I had always heard you couldn't/weren't supposed to turn drilled or slotted rotors. If the were turned so that the slots are now gone, I'd be interested to know the new thickness of the rotors. If they were turned below the minimum thickness, they could now be dangerous.

Most rotors have a minimum thickness (in millimeters) stamped on the back side somewhere.

Here's my $.02

The slots on my powerslot rotors are angled towards the edge of the rotors. When they get to their minimum thickness, the slot no longer extends to the edge of the rotor.

I'm not sure if Stillen employs any similar measuring devices into their rotors, but turned rotors will increase the heat of the rotor and will also require the piston to push farther.

I always turn mine at the local Murray's. Sometimes a friend does them for me, last time I just went and did them myself FTW.
