Def worth it. Gets rid of the 1st cat and does not set off the CEL. Instant gain of power (you will feel it).

Best thing to do is Stillen Header - Straight pipe with cat - axel back.

If you're taking it apart. Remove the stupid stupid flat exhaust piece directly under the motor/trans. That's where most of the restriction is.

Mine throws the CEL because i was 2 lazy to finish the installation. i still dont know how that part works.

But i felt the power and love the header.

i am currently selling my header, but i think i have a buyer.

What? It throws a CEL because of the o2 sensor. What did you not finish? Just curious. I know ur getting rid of it but I might be able to shed some light on that.

I had mine installed from a mechanic and never had a problem. It's amazing I love it. I wouldn't even think twice about getting it.

Qr25. What could I use to replace that stupid stupid exhaust piece you mentioned?

how much the install roughly? How long did they take? Just want to know a ball park guess about it.

My gf brought me the headers for xmas ^_^.

Debating if i should wait until i get my exhaust to install them together or go with the header first then exhaust after.

Also noob question but can a 3.5L sedan nismo exhaust fit a 2.5L sedan? need to know before i make the purchase after getting my tax return ^_^.

Thanks for any answer.

the only way to replace the flat part of the exhaust is to custom make it at a welding shop. i had a welding shop custom make my flowmaster exhaust fully straight pipe and kept the sensor at the same spot. no problems at all doing this type of job

With the Stillen headers there is a piece that comes along with the headers. You have to cut the wires for the o2 sensore solder on the new ones (that also come with your purchase), reattach the sensor and plug it into that extra pipe sleeve thing it comes with. If you do that it will not throw to CEL.

However I as well didn't do that extra step because I don't trust my electrical skills and because I had already spent about 10 hours installing my headers because I couldn't get the damn belt back on after removing my alternator.

Install should only take about 3 hours with an extra hand and proper tools.

But in any case the headers are wonderful and you can feel/hear the difference in the higher rpms. Also if you have an intake it brings back a bit of the low end you lose with the intake.

Straight pipe and a cheap cat. Done. Weld in a bung for the o2 sensor and you're set.

QR, sounds pretty simple, but once my funds go up, ill think about it more, thanks!!

As for the install hours and price, my dads mechanic installed the header and the other piece for the o2 sensor in an hour and a half. we payed 150, so it sounds pretty reasonable

The install took me about 8 hours, but my dad is slow. and we ran into a few stupid problems. For example the instructions said take off the alternator. we tried not to take it off and we ended up stripping a bolt on the engine. Another thing the instructions said was to spray the bolts to the exhaust. my dad didnt want to spray the bolts. That wasted some time and we eventually sprayed the bolts.

Get that siht installed as soon as possible. i felt a big power increase. Then i got the bd tuner and the car just took off.

why are you purchasing the 3.5L sedan nismo? the axle back should fit not sure about the rest of the pipes

Well i couldnt find a 2.5l sedan nismo version, if you happen to know the site let me know, i've tried searching for one for my sedan but no luck.

I dont want an axle back exhaust and i dont want it heavier than stock like the stillen one and i wanted a nice sound hence i picked the nismo.

Would have rather gotten the greddy spectrum elite but its only available for teh coupe and i dont know how much of a differnce it would make if i extended the piping to make it fit the sedan or if that's even possible.

I might give it a try and have it installed myself, but it looks alito more than i can handle, so i might just have a shop do it, depending on who else i can get to help me lol.

i just got my headers about a week ago also. i'm trying as much as i can to wait till i get cash to purchase an electric exhaust cut out. i forgot about that flat piece of piping and debating if i should worry getting that taken care of since i'm going to have the cutout installed. straight pipe could come in handy when i have the cutout closed....hmmmmmmmmm

if i happen to get the headers and cutout installed soon i will try and post up my feedback.

for you guys that say "get a cheap cat" if u live in NY or Cali- u gta get a Cal Stamped Emission Catalytic Converter.... which is why for some of us, this is a install, outstall per year..... and the only way to do this as of right now is to take ur existing exhaust manifold and cut the engine stems off.... cus theres no aftermarket replacement Cal cat- or plz for the love of God correct me if im wrong- cus i hate takin it off and putting it on for the stupidity of passing my inspection.....

Hrmmm all this is making me wonder now for those of you that did install the header and is not throwing any codes because I did the complete install and I'm getting a P2423 Code for HC Adsorption Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1. I did report this to R&D and just waiting for them to reply back as I keep getting this code back after about 300-400 miles from clearing it.

There is quite a performance gain as far as HP but you do lose low end torque slightly but with the BullyDog programmer, it offsets it a little. Definitely a worthy mod but if you don't want to worry about switching it out every year to pass emissions (if your state requires it) then it may be a pain.
