its been a while and that full cat-back exhaust from dc sports still hasnt hit the market. i started to reconsider spending around 800 bucks for the exhaust and just put a custom exhaust.

i would just buy a cheap exhaust muffler from ebay and have the piping done at a local shop. this should cost around 200 bucks.. a quarter of the dc exhaust.

i know, dc sports will test the exhaust for the versa and optimize the horsepower gain, but thats a lot of money.. id rather get some rims and tires..

so what do you guys think i should do?

any other ideas?

with that sort of money rims and tires are more ideal. i saw on a website that the dc sports exhaust is 1.9**" inches in diameter so like 2 inches, and custom i have a 2.25 (not that it would make that much difference) but mine is machine bent and im sure dc is mandrel (sp?) i love my custom exhaust. IMO i would save that money for rims and tires which i desperatly need right now.

I'd go custom. What kind of gain would really be provided by an $800 exhaust system for a 122hp economy car? You'd be out $800, that's what.

i'd prefferd stock muffler. Just change the tip only. Or take the new manifold intake for versa (from the latest edition siphon magazine).

If someone in the Miami area is willing to bring their car in to our shop, I'll have one manufactured (and GIVE the participant a FREE catback exhaust)!

Why's it gotta be so far away Greg? I'm always down for free stuff.

Someone do this so there will be an option for catback.

We're already building a catback for the Versa.

$475 shipped.

And don't be too convinced that a lot of testing and dyno-tuning went into the DC system. Trust me on this.

Any improvement over stock will be a plus, but I can guarantee you that almost NO R&D went into that system.

Our gains came from straightening out the flow, and going with a straight-through resonator and muffler. Simple.

Greg, pay attention to post dates. New Versa forums are up, we are in the middle of moving all the old posts.
