LOS ANGELES - Nov. 20, 2013 - Nissan today announced the launch of a new digital magazine portal dedicated to the world-renowned Nissan GT-R supercar and NISMO, Nissan's performance and motorsports group.

Available at https://flipboard.com/profile/Nismocars, the digital reader application's free availability coincides with this week's world and North American debuts of the new Nissan GT-R NISMO at the Tokyo Motor Show and Los Angeles Auto Show respectively.

"We have developed three digital magazines, each with a different editorial slant, that combine to tell the full NISMO and Nissan performance story," said Jon Brancheau, vice president, Marketing, Nissan North America, Inc.

According to Brancheau, these "flipboards" "...give us a terrific way to gather, filter and share the best Nissan performance-oriented content on the web."

 I got nothing. :tisk:

Just a quick note... If this was launched 2 days ago, it currently has 131 readers. :spitout:

In 2 days, we got more views than that on a thread titled "1999 Altima SE Limited."

They have the ability to produce a competitive RWD car. I have seen the drawings and sketches. Instead...

By the way, there is more of that Russian Cancer in Gen chat.

The only solution is for Nissan to start making the 99 Altima se limited again? Or hire me to do their marketing

What happened to getting your name out there by MAKING THE BEST PRODUCT ON THE MARKET?

You wouldn't HAVE to remind everyone about your brand if anyone CARED about it in the first place.

I don't see Cadillac posting flipboards. Twenty years ago nobody remembered them. Now they're fighting for the throne. They did that by MAKING AMAZING CARS.

You want to get people's attention? Build better stuff. And "better" doesn't include crossovers or CVTs.

Regardless of opinion of Nissan's various products, NONE of them can claim to be the best. Not one single Nissan product. That's pretty embarrassing. Mazda's got the best midsizer. Ford's got the best compacts. Toyota has the best affordable hybrids. Honda builds the best big crossover (sorry Nissan: your determination doesn't equal success). Chrysler builds the best...oh s***. Wait, no: Chrysler does build the best minivans. GM makes the best sport-lux sedans. Nissan builds...average Altimas, generic Sentras, bland Versas, goofy Jukes... There is not one damn reason to buy a Nissan anything over the competition. No amount of flipboards will fix that.

Oh, right, again I fogot about Nissan's trucks. Nissan does build the best midsize SUVs and trucks. Probably because those products haven't been revised in almost a decade, so the current plague of fail hasn't been able to infect their design.

My sis loves her 2013 Altima Sv cvt because she gets 34 mpg.

I would probably hate it how much would it cost Nissan to offer a 6spd manual in all their cars?

You'd be surprised... There's a lot of manual-specific operations that have to take place in the manufacturing environment. Manuals are generally more fickle to assemble than automatics (you can knock the clutch/pressure plate out of alignment when marrying the trans and engine), plus they take longer to put together (you have to match splines and insertion angle, etc). Their low-volume numbers struggle to justify the floor space they take up just sitting there too. The best thing they have going for them is that they are simple so the actual components that go into it are cheap.

They all also require different ECUs, etc.

I'd love to see what Nissan paid them to come up with that brilliant marketing idea. :tisk:

They'd better give you a corner office, with an assistant who answers to you and only you. There will also be a water cooler situated inside your office for use only by you and your assistant. This will minimize interaction and prevent any chances of you or your assistant being influenced by the pencil pushers.

F an office. Give us a small shop somewhere on the factory grounds and access to the wind tunnel and test track and a small budget.

I have no doubt that a small group of us here could put together a concept car based on an existing chassis and using parts we raided from the assembly line bin that could kick a BRZs a**.

I could see the unveiling with Goshn

Greg, what is this.

"Altima coupe converted to RWD."

Frap, what happened to the body?

"We fattened the fenders to mount more wheel and tire and shaved those lame flat edges. We hate that @#$*."

Hijacker, what's that stick in the center?

"A shifter. We put a real manual in it. If you want your CVT back it's around back, beat to pieces with a sledgehammer and on fire."

What engine is this Mad?

"FJ20"

Did you get that off the museum floor?

"No, I brought it from home." :gapteeth:

I don't have any of those, thus I cannot supply one, silly.

The 20 will get it done. Over 400hp on this S12.

The dry sump and 1500 RPM idle would get annoying after a while anyway.

I do love that engine, tho, in whatever form it may come.
