You have a flow problem. Is the radiator "NEW" or is it used. The thermostat would be stuck closed to cause it to overheat. If it is the tstat I dont think it is completely stuck closed but may not be opening all the way.

well you know a car will over heat if the thermostat is stuck open just takes forever for it to heat up but now that you metnion the thermostat being partially closed makes sense to its at the shop now well see what he has to say

A tstat being stuck open will never be the cause of an overheat. For an engine to properly cool itself their needs to be a proper flow of coolant through the engine to the radiator and back. If the tstat is open you will achieve that goal. Closed or partially closed will hamper that effort.

Other things that might prevent proper cooling flow would be: Clogged radiator, faulty water pump, air in the coolant lines, clogged coolant lines.

Also, a blown head gasket can lead to issues that will cause an overheat.

I agree with your first post when you mention that a bad radiator cap may be the problem. Try getting a new one. You don't need the 1.3bar.. a standard 1.1 bar will be just fine. Give that a shot.

I think he changed the cap. BTW I agree with the tstat theroy. It is an old school trick on old american muscle to remove the tstat to make it run cooler.

sometimes it will shoot out like that while burping air. the telltail sign is if it only shoots out when you give it a throttle snap or if the bubbles are consistant even after bleeding the air. in many cases(but not all) you will find white coolant smoke or wet plugs.

man it wasnt like a little burp like when bleeding air when he turned the motor it shot up like 2- 3ft in the air, plus lately every now and again i seen some white smoke while i was idling so im going to compression test it and see whats up
