The car: 95 240sx w/ s13 head

The problem: I had to do a head swap due to head warping while overheating and ive replaced every possible cooling part on my car. I have bought a water pump, radiator, nismo thermostat (already tested and it works great), new plugs, radiator cap, and about 7 million gallons of collant. I replaced the head gasket with a head up felpro kit and all intake and exaust gaskets as well.

The weird thing is ive ran a compression test and came up with 210 210 210 210. I had the cylinderhead milled due to warpage and had new valve stem seals installed. The system runs great but as soon as i drive for 2-3 min. while warmed up, the ac fan kicks on and the system over heats. Thinking that it was my heater core malfunctioning, i bypassed that as well. I've completly flushed and bled the system.

Even after all this, no avail. I have 0 idea and have searched for ever possible out. Nothing is actually working.

210 psi!? that seems crazy high to me! maybe that is part of your problem... how is your fan clutch? there are more parts to the cooling system than your think...

210 really isnt bad, and it wouldnt cause overheating. I completly cleaned the clutch and ac fan and they are in excellent working order.

210 seems awfully high to me. i think stock specs are between 160-170... btw i am fairly certain you can not clean the fan clutch. how easy is it to spin?

yes, but the cylinder head has been milled, when you mill a head you raise compression.

and the fan clutch spins and sounds fine.

how far was the head milled? or was it just resurfaced? sounds fine? what does a fan clutch sound like? can you definetly feel a pulling from the front of the radiator. a nice easy test is to use paper. how clean does the coolant look after being flushed? is your radiator cap in good working order?

.007" something like that......it was milled because it was warped, it sounds fine.

the fan clutch sounds and feels fine, the rad cap is brand new. the coolant looks clean.

I had a problem like that once and I had to replace my radiator cap and it worked just fine. My sister had a water pump problem and she replaced it and hers is running just fine. I know you mentioned that you replaced the water pump but sometimes the parts you get even though they are brand new come to be faulty. I hope this helps

See thats just it, ive already replaced the radiator cap and i inspected the water pump, it spins freely as well. I know this is getting annoiing but someone must have some other idea as to whats going on.

arent you suppose to compensate for the shaved head, like a thicker gasket.

high compression = hotter engine

I actually sent the damn thing to a shop yesterday just to have the system checked and its not even flowing. I believe that its the water pump. The guys at the shop have a system that fully sucks all the air out of the system and replaces it with antifreeze. Even after doing this, it still overheats. Ill keep yall posted as to if it is the water pump. Thanks again, Jason.

Actually, it was my water pump. Turns out that the "new" water pump that i bought was defective. The impeller had actually come loose in the engine and the coolant wasnt flowing. Thanks so much for all the help and i just so everyone knows, CHECK YOU NEW PARTS.
