still no turbo, eh?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

You have 400 Hp going through your CVT? How much torque?

Modified a Ecotec 2.2L SC. It has alot of problems. Looking to acquire a Procharger from the B15 sentra's.

the OP has a 2.0 CVT, which treadstone has already acknowledged won't fit. this kit is for the se-r model only. it's never been tested on an se-r with CVT either, just the spec v.

The Renaults turbo 2.0L is rated at 250hp and the crank, so im assuming the CVT can handle it.
IIRC the Sport Renaults that output that kinda juice dont use CVT. According to the wiki, the 227hp and Renault Sport 250 use 6 speed trannys. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A9gane_Renault_Sport

here is some food for thought however: http://www.cardomain.com/MakeModel/Rena ... 2007/2010/

I know the CVT in Versas and 2.0 Sentras is a weaker version of the Altima unit, so you do the math. Not to down your ambitions but it isn't advisable to boost on it. Plus you'd void the warranty anyway.
To make it even more clear. Does it really seem logical for a company such as Nissan to extend the warranty AND reimburse anyone who has previously paid for repairs, so you do the math. Also, from the way I understand the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, my warranty would remain, (unless the turbo could be proven to cause the failure).

good luck with that. Nissan Of America (and Nissan dealers in general) will laugh at you if you start spouting the Magnus-Moss WAO 75'. Many people lost many a QR25 engine due to eaten cats that dealers would deny warranty replacements cause the cars were modded. Its one of the things that made me jump from Nissan after owning a B15 Sentra. Not that mine had that issue but it shocked me at how owners were being treated. a couple of people have tried the M-M warranty argument and lost.

I am not sure if the CVT in the Sentra is the same in the Maxima but if it is, that means the CVT should be good up to about 300hp \ 270ft. and again to all of those saying the Renaults do just fine, the ones you are talking about use 6 speed transmissions.

Been looking for a turbo kit to fit to my 6spd 2.0S as well. But all info I've found so far is about SE-Rs and their QR25DE's.

Anybody tried their luck on turboing an MR20DE?

I know, why turbo it when it's supposed to be an econobox etc. etc. etc., but we don't even get SE-R's where I live, and it would be nice to have a little extra punch in my B16. (Say, 160 - 180 whp).

That's a bit extreme for my taste. Instead of replacing rods and pistons and going for 22 Psi, my choice would be to keep as stock as possible and run a little boost. Like I said, if I get to the 180 whp (about 200 shaft hp?) range it is more than enough.

Mind you, for those who haven't driven a 6spd 2.0, its factory power/torque figures are deceiving - the engine is quite a warrior. And it is my only car, so I want to keep the reliability. That's why I don't look for too much improvement.

yeah he kinda went all out, but he would still be the best bet on how to do it. it wouldnt be difficult to turbo your car since it's a manual, i would think. it's us CVT people who are unsure...

There are a bunch of turbo b16 specs and 1 2.0 that i know of(converted to 6speed). Treadstone is releasing a kit for SER's and specs this year. They say that they put one on an SER(has cvt) and did fine at 303whp. No obvious transmission abuse.

O i must have misunderstood the comment that made me think that(there is a thread about that they posted on another forum)

I definitely think the cvt would work with moderate boost, at least the ones in the SERs. The ones in the 2.0 have a lower torque rating but i have no idea on the exact specs. If the SER's is the same as in the maximas altimas and muranos, then i has to be able to at least handle stock VQ torque.

There was a 3.5 altima on youtube with a turbo and cvt, but nothing has been said about it sense those videos.

I think it would be perfectly fine up to 8 psi probably on a QR25, but the longevity is what i would be worried about.

O and i have an 09 SER

If anyone wants to buy all the parts and bring the car to my house, I'll engineer the s*** out of a turbo system for you. I'll even tell you what to buy.
