Make sure your battery is charged up.

Which relay(s) do you hear clicking? Have someone turn the key while you listen around under the hood. Is this a 240? What year?

I know it should be charged. That's why you need to make sure that it is.

But really, though - save yourself some trouble and just make sure. If the battery is fine and the starter is fine and your blue relay is clicking but not he starter solenoid, then there is quite likely a problem with either a ground or power wire going to the starter. The pertinent ground is the one going to the intake manifold. Clean and tight or it's no good. Make sure that you hooked the starter up properly when you reinstalled it, too. You should have the main power wire going to the solenoid, and you should also have the signal wire connected to the harness coming off the solenoid.

I should also like to note that if this new starter didn't come from Nissan, it is NOT UNLIKELY that it might be dead on arrival. If all else fails, get the new starter tested.

Excellent. I'd take a used Nissan starter over a new aftermarket starter any day of the week so long as it didn't look to be trashed.

I don't think it does either, hence the rest of my post. It's just good practice to check the simple things first so you don't get owned by them.
