STILL NEED HELP hooking up 6x9s in 94 J30

So heres the deal....i am still running my 6x9 MTXs off my amp in the trunk but i wantto use that amp for my subs because the MTXs have weak bass...so i want the MTXs hooked up to the head unit....i unscrewed the amps and disconnected them from my factory speakers....i took the amps out to my car and plugged them back into the four-pin connecters to power the amps...then i took the red and green wires and connecting them to my MTXs and NOTHING happens...no sound, no static, NOTHIN....if anyone has any clue what i need to do please replie....im dying to get these 6x9s hooked up to the head unit. THanks you.

Can you hook the stock speakers back up to see if they work?
