Im wanting to buy a power FC and they have a different part number between the 94-96 and the 97-98.

I guess im just curious if you guys know what the real differnces are and were can I locate the production info on my motor (is there a plate with numbers).

There is no way to tell based on the stamp on the block. If you have the VIN number from a front clip you can tell that way. The 97-98 has a newer AC unit and alternator, S14 style TPS, S14 speed sensor in the transmission, uses the J4 ECU and has a different wiring harness. If you pull out a coil pack there should be a stamp that was put on it in the factory showing when the coil left the factory thus giving you a general idea of the age of the engine.

allright. Thanks.

Seeing that my alternator workes on both my red and blacktop + a 62 ecu I would say heavy throttle was right with the 96 deal.

OK, I guess after I get back from my road trip ill see what I have left over and maby finally buy this stuff!
