Ok, here's my setup.

I'm running a Tial 38mm Wastegate w/ open dump.

IAP manifold w/ 1.5" ID runner that is MAJORLY ported out, I made sure of this.

My signal for the wastegate is coming from the hot pipe.

I have a .4bar(5.8psi) spring in right now, and I'm creeping to about 10-12psi...

It will hold 6psi until about 5k+rpms, where the boost jumps, and hits 10+psi.

I'm thinking that maybe my wastegate is just junk, but any suggestions are appreciated. I'd like to come to a conclusion before I spend 250 bucks on another wastegate.

How's the open dump setup? Is there any sharp bends close to the output of the wastegate?

no bends...open dump means that I'm not running a dump tube, so there's absolutely no restriction there

Make sure your lines to your wastegate are as short and kink-free as possible. I have a very similar setup to you and when I had SHORT wastegate lines it was a consisent 7psi. Now that I added an MBC and about 2 ft of wastegate lines, it doesn't go lower than 11. It doesn't bother me, but I'm pretty sure I could fix it by shortening the lines up.

I have a really short line, so that's not a problem

Would a sharp bend cause boost creep? I have a 90 degree one comming off mine. I also have boost creep and the Iap manifold.

have you tired getting the wastegate signal from the intake manifold for ****s and giggles?are all the lines clamped or zip tied down?

nathan- did you run vaccum lines into your car for the boost controller? you went with joe p too, right?

IMO, that IAP manifold is the problem...

Too many people have had it, and tried A LOT of different stuff to control creep...and no anwers yet.

As long as you have a good boost source, and a good wastegate...with an open dump tube, you should NEVER see any boost creep.

Sorry, but time for a new manifold.

Has anyone used IAP and NOT had boost creep???

they arn't talking about a dump tube, they are talking about the position of the wastegate on the manifold, or the runner that leads to the wastegate, depending on how it is on your setup.

Well, the wastegate runner is like a 90 degree bend...It's ported REALLY damn good though. I really don't think the manifold is the problem, but who knows...maybe it's a bad wastegate..

I have the IAP and NO boost creep...its not rocket science here. Crazy enough, I EVEN have the deltagate mk II, a wastegate famous for spikes and creeping. Until I added the Joe P mbc (under the hood, zip tied to the brake master cyl.) I held a rock solid 7psi always, exactly what the spring is. When I added the Joe P, the lowest I can now go is 11psi, I can only assume this is from the smaller diameter hoses it uses, and the extra 2 ft. of hose. Otherwise, it just cant be adjusted lower, but I'm fine with that...11psi is more fun anyway ;) I take my wastegate signal from a 1/4 pipe fitting tapped right into the hotpipe just off the turbo outlet also, that seems to work really well at controlling boost. My wastegate is also dumped open, and I'd like to say its just simple crush bent 1 1/4 inch pipe, about 1 ft. long with a sharp 90 degree bend right off the wastegate. Thats a 35mm wastegate too, not that it really matters. One thing that should be mentioned is that I did port my manifold where the wastegate dump tube is, I opened it up to almost the inner diameter of the pipe. Its probably a rough 1 inch diameter hole now and works just fine always.

Yea, see, I'm thinking it's my wastegate...Maybe I'll test it out with a compressor or something.

I don't necessarily mind the 10psi boost creep though, LOL. Makes the car pull ALOT harder, haha.
