Well.. i put on the headgasket.. and car starts and idles fine.. if i leave it idling for 30 min its fine.. smokes alot cuz the turbo went out.. if i drive it no smoke till i come to a stop.. heres the deal tho.. it kinda loses power which i think is due to the fact that the turbo is crap now and itll still glow red.. my timing is right and with a lil drive the heat stays low then just skyrockets and overheats.. i put a new radiator and thermostat again.. my freind at a shop said i need to get it flushed completly cuz its kinda gunked up.. but i was wondering.. on my number 1# coil its got a spring in it??? and the others are capped.. u know the lil electrode in the boot.. so im wondering if that may be why im running rich?? maybe my timing belts got slack??? cuz my timing is set right but my CAS is set pretty much full clockwise and from what dee has said thats too far.. and its definetly father then it was set when i got the engine.. i dunno i havent worked on it for awhile due to the fact that i dont wanna buy another turbo and just over heat it and burn that out aswell.. and yes i know i need to let the car cool down for like 5 min after running it before turning it off.. dunno? any suggestions on what may be going on?? i miss my car poor thing just sits there now..

First of all, ALWAYS fix one thing at a time when you are working on a car. The first thing that I would fix is the timing. This is how:-Set #1 piston to TDC on Compresson stroke The best way to do this is to pull the valve covers off, and turn the motor by hand until both of the cams are pointing "up" on the #1 cylnder. Then make sure you're at TDC. To do this, I pull the plug on the #1 cylnder, then use a wooden dowl rod and slide it into the plug hole and then turn the motor back and forth until the dowl rod sticks as far out of the motor as possible. -Remove the front timing cover-Loosen the tensioner-Remove the belt-Reinstall the belt. There should be 3 markings on the timing belt. Generally 2 will be one color, and the last will be a different color. The 2 of the same color (or the 2 closest to eachother) will line up with the dots that are on the front of the cam gears. The last will line up with the dot on the crank gear. You will have to turn the cams to get all of this to line up correctly. I use a large cresent wrench. Line up the crank sproket first, then one cam, and then you'll probabally have to turn the last cam to get it to line up.-Reinstall timing belt cover and valve covers-Start car and warm up to NOT-Reset timing on CASThis is the way that I've done it and I've NEVER had to reset timing on any car that I've done. Try this first and then come back to us.
