Finished the coilover mounts for the AWD fronts, turned out really well, probably have 1/4" between the frame and ground. Scrub just a little bit...

Also, got the wheels on. YES I ran staggered setup on the awd, I've read multiple forums on why not to run it. AS LONG AS the rolling diameter doesnt exceed 4mm there will be no problems... So stagger if ya want, just make sure ur stretch is appropriate and in the guidelines...

Threw some ricey custom nonsense on the M, turned out well actually. See if you can point out what I did...

Will thro up some legit pics from Stance Nation once I get them from the photographer.... Cheers...

Is the ricey part the blue sticker on the windshield? Lol or is it the chrome side moldings on the door? It looks like you lowered the front but why are you still sitting high? Since you are staggered what specs did you go with for the other X owners to go by?

Stickers are awesome!!!!! chrome side moldings are JDM... but yes, not bought from Junction, bought from AutoZone, pics do not do it justice... looks factory irl, srsly...

dont judge me...

NO!

Okay, the front looks higher, but is not. Its an illusion, the fenders and wells of the front are quite a bit larger than those in the back, and the suspension compensates with less natural camber. The car is actually level, see the pics below, a much better rep as to where the car sits...

As far as the wheels, I had to try a few different tires to get the stretch correct to within 4mm... I went with a 19x9.5 in the front, and a 10.5 in the rear. Wrapped the front fat with 245/35, for a less aggressive stretch, and the rears with a 255/35 to even out the rolling diameter. Side by side comparison was almost exact. However actually rolling diameter after the stretch was roughly 3.8mm... Cutting it close. Had to use summer tires (Michelin Pilot Super Sport XL) to get the softer stretch as well, so all winter tires are a no go.

Testing so far is so good. No codes, have checked diff grease at various temps to test viscosity, and also drove 20miles at 10mph to insure at least a 20% torque bias. Also drove at 120mph with the snow button activated for an extended amount of time just to say i did it :ohno:

Anyways, check the pics below for a better look at the stance

KW variant 2's are the coilovers...

basically spilt the front overaxel wishbone, and TIG'd it back together with more space and a bumper plate allowing the strut to rest like a regular coilover

Yes I knew. However their damper does not come to within a hair of the KW variant 2s or 3s. And their drop is not as extreme. I could still technically drop another 1.5" but my car wouldnt move...

at 1/4" frame-from-ground my coilovers provide enough reactive damper that I rarely scrape, I hold forms under WOT, sharp turns are not camber sensitive, etc.

It also feels great and is very responsive...

PLUS i wasnt going to have $2700 coilovers just laying around the shop and not try to tack em on...

thanks for the info tho

No my cats are higher than my frame, but I am running stillen HFC's, smaller in size than the stock ones, especially with those massive heat sheilds... I also did some tucking on my exhaust so that raised it even more...

lowest part of my car is he frame, just under the oil pan...

Hey great work on yo ride....you weren't joking about modding that ride.....I like your style...BTW speaking of Hfcs...I'm debating on hfc or test pipes....what are your thoughts on berks, kinetix or Crawford products?... I noticed u have the kinetix plenum and did u add the throttle body spacer?... How is your power? I may add hfcs or test pipes but not sure which way to go.....thanks...

I would go with HFCs over test pipes... test pipes, although more free flowing, create more rasp, the difference is really only price...

Kinetx are decent and typically make parts within spec, kind of like stillen. Berk, are a little more cheap imo, but def hold up, i just dont like their welds. Crawford is legit, i'd even them with kinetx.

No throttle body spacer, kind of pointless... Right now my power is less than stock, for I do not have a tune... any modifications to the air flow on the VQ is notorious for causing EM to retard power. However, the kinetx with the 1/2" spacer, and a good tune should yield a conservative 20hp... add exhaust to that and its one helluva increase for bolt ons...

Basically, go HFC's, you'll like em better, get a spacer, 5/8" minimum, and tune ur shiz man, otherwise you're just spinning your wheels...

Stay tuned for a post with a sound clip of my exhaust system at WOT, cold start, and idle...

hmu if you have any more questions...

cant wait to tune your car and show us the numbers.

did u feel any difference with only the HFC? in my ex-car 2006 350z the test pipe made some difference. the response was better... it is the same with the M? of the HFC will make me loose power!!??

The cats will make you loose power....

UNTIL you are tuned. Once the M is tuned the cats themselves will contribute more to the power ratio than an intake/exhaust combined.

I honestly didnt see a change in the bottom end untill installing the spacer, but that is typical of VQs

Which ones ride like stock? Any advantage of coilovers compared to springs? I don't plan to slam my car IF I ever do decide to go through with dropping it. Three of my rims are slightly bent so I'm thinkin of getting new wheels eventually and if I go after market, I'd like to drop it as well.

Not sure if i can answer your question for I rode stock for maybe 20 miles to my shop lol.... But if you are looking to maintain ride quality, buy coils that have high damper rating...

Is he riding the same spring rates as a 350z?? If so amazing, 2nd hand 350z parts should help those looking for a cheaper alternative. And I have read that when using 350z coil overs it rides wy too low on it's highest setting, if OP could give a review and pics of coil overs on highest setting that would do a lot for this community
