Hmm, there wasn't a lot of detail there, only a couple pics of the back end crumpled in and no details of the collision except that the driver was drunk.

Without knowing how fast the car was going that rear ended the Rogue it's really hard to say if the Rogue did well or not. If this happened at a low speed then this isn't good at all, but if it was a highway-speed crash then the fact the driver was uharmed definatley is a compliment to the Rogue.

When I look a this I immediately think of my dog who routinely rides in my cargo area, I guess she'd be in trouble if I ever got hit from behind....

I've seen it couple months ago but one correction....it says in the beginning 2009 and you can see there's no chrome door handles. She bought 2010 rogue after the crash. Also look at these 2 crash test videos. They say it is pretty safe and gets 5 stars easily. I remember when I bought my car it had no crash test rating and later I got a letter from Nissan about 5 stars rating. Insurance gave me a discount when I brought this letter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI1Ju0WwcaQ&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_P2mzyZUjI

Here is a link to a sumamry of the NHTSA crash test ratings for the Rogue - it rated 5/5 on almost everything, very good results. One thing of note is that there doesn't seem to be a rear-impact test....

There is even some photos of the Rogue being crashed during the test, and the one details the very low intrusion into the driver foot/leg area which is important in front crashes. I want to survive a crash but I also want to retain the use of my legs and not have to be cut out of the vehicle, so this is very good to know!
