Before I put my new headgasket in, i still need to figure out why my car bogged at 15psi with a T28. I blew my headgasket by doing a burnout. I'm running 370cc injectors and have a wideband with a safc2. I need answers. Why? I'm getting enough fuel.. I need to figure this out because i don't want to blow another gasket. I know the motor can handle 15psi, but why did it bog out??

do you have an AFR reading from the time it happened? that might help What octane gas are/were you running? Have you messed w/ timing at all? running stock plugs or not? What gap on plugs? Have you upgraded your ignition?

I'm running 12.7 all across, not sure about gapping, but there suppose to be colder by 1 degree. I think like 8. I retarded timming by distributer a few degrees. Hopefully, i can get my headgasket put in next week. By the way, is it easier putting the head back on with just the top intake mani, or the top and bottom? The caps for the valves fell out too, so I was wondering which side the caps with the marks go on? Intake or Exhasut, left or right?

A t28 is gonna bog at 15 psi no matter what. It has become a heat pump at those levels of boost. Secondly your injectors are way to small for 15 psi. Also those valve caps are shimmed to only go in the valve they are supposed to if you mix them up your gonna be in big trouble.

i think you definitely need some sort of timing control to retard your timing under boost. maybe like the MSD BTM..? i've read somewhere that trimming your 370cc injectors down tricks the ECU into a more advanced timing map. plus you say your timing is only a couple degrees retarded.

but i'm no expert..

12.7 AF? Def not safe IMO. You should at least be in the 11s. next guess is injectors maxxing. Are you running a stock MAFS? Verify timing. Get those AFs down in safe range.

I'm running on a stock maf, and i thought 12.7 was safe? Well thanks for the info, i'll bring it down to 11.7 when I get it running. I guess i'm screwed with the shims, i heard I could use a feeler gauge to fix it. But i'm still not sure where the shim caps with markings go. I was running 15, because I heard thats where the T28 maxes out. Dang, i knew I shoulda gone for a T3/T4. Too bad a T3/t4 does'int bolt up to my existing mani, or does it????

Nope that's a T2 flange instead of a T3.
