Get something with a lifetime warranty, no $17 cheapies! Different shocks have different qualities, and I have read mixed reviews from mixed people.

I would suggest a mono-tube over twin tube for a truck.

My buddy bought sensa-tracs for his 4x4 ranger, but he said he would have went with something else.

On the cheap, I found Pro-comp es1000 for less that $30 each that have a warranty, but some people say that they ride harsh. I also don't think they are mono-tube, but IDK 100%. On the higher end I found, for example, Bilstein 9100 which cost several hundred dollars each.

I have yet to buy new shocks for my 4x4, but I am also interested in any info I can get. I have been reading reviews like mad but like I said, there have been mixed results. Bilstein seem to get good reviews, but I have read some bad ones, too.

I would like to know what DesertRat has to say about this...

try rancho they make off roading shocks and they are valved much more harsh, for stronger stiffer ride you need springs to do it right. Shocks just control the speed of dampening but it will make it feel stiffer but it really making it harsh not more controlled unless you are an aggressive driver. hevay weight springs will give more stiff ride
