barely.. the stopping distance is now multiplied by 3 or 4.. not even anything safe to take onto the highway.. and when you press on the brakes, you hear a hissing noise

visually check the brake hydraulics. YOu may have burst a brake line. Sounds like fluid may be leaking from somewhere though. You can look in the MC first to see if the fluid is gone.

your booster is bad, or the vaccum line just popped off.

the booster is the big black disk between the master cylinder and the firewall if you didn't know.

alright.. so either the vacuum or booster.. but now i realized something else yesterday.. stepping on the brakes makes the rpm's drop like crazy.. it drops so low that it sounds like the car wants to die.. and when im at a complete stop with my foot on the brake, the needle jumps back and forth between 700 and 1200 rpms.. kinda sounds like a go cart

well, the car is supposed to idle at 700 rpm so it's probably not going to die on you. i would imagine that your booster is bad and it is just letting air rush through it into the intake, basically creating a vaccum leak. a rough idle like that is pretty much what happens when you have a vaccum leak.

replace your booster and it will run like new (and adjust your idle)

well, theres a new update on the problem.. i noticed this only happens at a constant speed of 55mph+ .. the rpm's will spike downward by 500 for a split second.. when it first happened i thought the car would just stall.. but i'll be goin like 5th gear at 3500rpms, then for a millisecond it will drop to 3000, then pick up at 3500 again.. u think its still just the booster?

i would replace the booster and go from there. sometimes you just have to throw parts at a problem until it goes away. i'm not saying this is one of those times, just that you might want to do things one at a time.
