Sticky Odometer Problem

Greetings Everyone! I'm new to this forum and look forward to future posts.

Odometer problem:I'm about to purchase a '91 240SX SE, but it has an odometer that intermittently stops turning. I've been told that this is a common problem with this model. Can anyone tell me if this is indeed a common problem, and if so, how can I go about fixing it. I appreciate any help.

i have the same problem on my nissan stanza. The *only* legal way to fix it is to take it to a shop that works on speedos and odometers. I think just about anything else is considered odimiter fraud..

Unfortunately, I just discovered some more problems with the car (biggest is severe rust corosion), so I have to hold off on finally owning my own 240SX.
