Alright so every now and then my gas pedal will stick when I go to accelerate. When I gently press the gas the pedal will stick at first and as I press it harder it will finally jump and accelerate. Anyone know why it's doing this and how to fix it?

That behavior can be caused by a dirty throttle body. If there is a lot of carbon buildup around the intake butterfly valve it can cause it to stick in the throttle body bore while opening and closing. Another symptom of this is erratic idle speed. Here's the link to FAQ section that addresses this:

Yeah dirty throttle body was the first thing I thought of but I wasn't too sure. Thanks for the link to that info! Very helpful. I guess I'm going to clean my throttle body tomorrow!

i am having the same problem. 97 pathfinder. the problem didn't start until i removed the upper intake to change my spark plugs. i then realized the coolant fast idle solenoid was bent. i removed it and bent it straight and put it on the same way it came off. now i need to force the pedal down. there is some carbon build up but i have not tried to clean it up yet because as i mentioned the problem didn't start until i messed with it. now i am afraid to make more adjustment's and mess up my idle. any input would be greatly appreciated. im new here but im looking forward to being able to get some answers and provide input as well
