i was wondering if this is common, i heard from a local owner that there seems to be alot of other 240 owners with a similar problem.

also my a/c is wierd. i was told this is common as well. some days the a/c is extremely cold, and then, more often then not it is just blowing air. does anyone else have either of these problems. Or know how to fix/replace either. Please help!thanks.

as for sticky gas pedal, it could be a worn out or damaged throttle cable (i'm not completely sure that they have a throttle cable). Other than that, spray some WD-40 on the hinges of the gas pedal to see if that helps. As far as the A.C. i need more information about it. Is the compressor going on and off at the right time? Need more info dude.

i put some WD40 on the pedal, ill see if that works.as for the a/c i would assume that the compressor works since sometimes the air is cold. basically it is a 50/50 chance that when I start the car the a/c will be cold. I really dont know how to diagnose the problem. Is there anything that I should check first? like anything common. I was told one time that it could be the actual panel that tells the car I want cold air, but i dont know how i could check that out.any info or suggestions would be a help. thanks alot.

sticky gas pedal: did u also spray the throttle linkage/spring under the hood w/ brakeclean, then wd-40? might be sticking from that end...

also clean out the throttle body while you're under there... just disconnect the boot & manually open up the throttle while blasting it w/ intake cleaner or carb cleaner; sometimes your engine will be hard to start afterwards... do u guys do this w/ the engine running or not?

a/c: i guess u can start checking your a/c system w/ a gauge from a parts store/walmart (u have R134a?) & do a visual around the lines for any oil leaks @ compressor/fittings...

you do it without the engine running

as for the a/c, make sure the clutch on the compressor is engaging when you turn it on, that sounds like the most likely problem since it works well when it does work, if the clutch doesnt engage when you hit the button, tap the front with a hammer after the button is pressed and see if that gets it going

ive worked on tons of 240s hat had a sticky gas pedal. it was caused by the stop screw on the throttle body being to far out. try turning it in half turn usually fixes it rightup!
