It's been raining like the amazon here in WI lately and my girlfriend who normally drives my QX4 says my wipers sometimes stick or skid across my windshield instead of a clean, steady wipe. They are slower than normal, even on fastest setting. Does this simply mean I'm due for new wiper motors? If so, are they hard to get to and replace? If someone thinks it's not the motors, can someone point me in the right direction? I have brand new wipers on it by the way.

Sounds to me like the wipers suck.

I just fixed my squeeky wiper system last week, so this may help:
My wipers were squeeling like hell, but it wasn't the wipers on the glass that was the problem.
I took the wiper arms off, then removed the black plastic cowling at the bottom of the windshield.
The cowling was surprisingly easy to remove. One screw, and a crap load of clips.
This exposes the wiper motor rods and mechanism. With a little Jiggaloo lube spray on all the moving joints, the squeek went away, and the wipers move a lot faster and smoother.
I would think doing the same thing on yours will solve your problem.
The biggest challenge was removing the wiper arms. Be careful when you pry them off.
Good luck.
