I have an 2002 Infiniti G20. The gas peddle sticks most of the time. It seems if you push down on the top part of the peddle not too much of a problem. Can anyone help out with this problem.

Thank you

My dad had this problem on his Izuzu, not sure if Infiniti's are setup the same but it's worth a look. There is an insualtor or sleave between the cable and the shaft. His was worn and got sticky and was causing it to get stuck. Also look for any wires that might have gotten loose by the top of the petal.

throttle cables, when their housings get worn, also like to create resistance.

Sleave, peddle, petal... I love the spelling sometimes on this forum.

Did the '02 G have drive-by-wire, or still a more traditional cable and throttle body setup? I'm pretty sure it's cable driven.

I have heard of a badly carboned throttle body causing sticking too. It seems like I hear this about the J30, but we don't have a big pool of second gen. G20 drivers to pull information from...

Might be worth cleaning it if it hasn't been done before.

Drive by wire as are all 2002.

I just downloaded the FSM at http://www.phatg20.net and it appears that the G20 throttle body is cable fed. There is a vacuum controlled "throttle opener" near the throttle body, but I can't find anything in the FSM about what it does exactly.

1miko1, I really think you need to download your FSM. There is a really good diagram of the gas pedal assembly that should help you resolve your issue.
