My RR pad on my S13 wore down MUCH faster than the rest of the pads. I didn't realize they were wearing unevenly until I heard the grinding sound coming from that wheel. So the disk is trashed, but that's ok because I have a replacement sitting in the corner getting dusty. Anyway, now that it's grinding I have noticed that it still grinds after I have let off of the brake, as if it's not retracting enough or at all. Is this caliper fixable, or does it just have to be bled? I don't know much about caliper operation obviously.

the piston is jammed, so it will either need to be rebuilt or replaced. You can get a rebuild kit from an auto parts store and it'll include all the seals you'll need to replace. If you have a Chiltons or a Haynes manual, it goes through the process of rebuilding calipers. But if you wanna save yourself the hassle, most auto parts stores offer rebuilt calipers and you get a discount for trading in your old one.

if the piston side is wearing faster than the outboard side, then you may just need new caliper slide pins, and not the entire caliper.

ya, that happened on mine and my neighbors prelude, replaced slide pins, synthetic brake caliper greased them up, never had to do anything else since.

wait, are both RR pads worn out or just one? if both, then caliper is sticking so do what tenkawa_akito said.
