I believe that my AAC valve (92 Q45) is sticking. I used a form-a-gasket material when my paper gasket broke. I ordered a new paper gasket and removed the form-a-gasket material and installed the new paper gasket.
I think some of the form-a-gasket stuff may have gotten onto the AAC rod and it is now sticking.
With the form-a-gasket stuff and the replacement paper gasket i am getting a high and irratic idle. The car idles around 2k +/- 500 rpm. I will let it idle for a long time hoping it will come down and sometimes it does briefly and then goes back up.
Does this sound like something a sticking AAC valve would cause? Also, any suggestions on how to clean it or test it?
thanks
jeff
