I've been thinking lately...05 STi wheels are 5 lug by 114.3....17x8...relatively lightweight....IMO pretty good looking....and have a good offset (not sure what for sure) to clear the brembo brakes so it would fill in the width gap with the stock wheels.

so to see for sure I made a photoshop. Do you guys think it would be worth getting these wheels.

FYI I'm more into function than form. They aren't uber gorgeous or anything....but I kinda like em...and I know they'll do what I need em to.

You will probably run into offset problems. I think the Suby wheels run a 48mm or something close. They're damn nice wheels though.

Yeah the 05's are 48mm offset...

Is that too much offset for a 240?

thats way to much for a 240. your stock rims i believe are like +40mm offset so naturally you would want somethin lower than that, maybe low 30's upper 20's?(dont take the numbers as gold its off the top of my head).

There used to be an offset calculator on here that was definately helpful; try using the search button to find it; or go to Zilvia I think i last saw one there. You put your measurements in and it tells you how much clearance you have from the inside and how much further it sticks out than stock

Are they really 5x114.3? Is that just a change for 2005?

I coulda sworn the 04's were 5x100, because I know they transplanted to 04 WRX's, which were definitely 5x100.

Is the 5x114.3 in 2005 for all Subarus? That'd be sorta cool....

Yeah WRX's and the 04 STi were 5x100 but they had some wheel bearing and hub issues with the 04 STi so they went to 5x114.3 for 05's and also went from a 17x7.5 to a 17x8

And no the WRX is still 5x100

even if they did fit, you could get cooler, lighter wheels for the same money, or equally good wheels for less.
