Of course you can, I dunno how the STi turbo looks like, but its probably just like any other turbo design. You'll probably just have to get custom piping for the intercooler. I don't see why it wont fit with modifications. If its free, just try it out and let us know

I've heard of this being done before. However, I have also read that STi/Subaru turbo's have unique mountings. So yes you would need a custom mount for it.

The up-pipe for the hot side is different than the sr turbo, and so is the bolting for the downpipe. You could do it, but honestly it might not be worth the effort, unless you know how to weld (or replace the hotside with one that will matte up to all the sr parts). You also need to be carefull about the year of the sti that the turbo is coming from. The vf39 (04+ sti) is known for cracking, but if it is the (02-03) jdm vf34 you should be good. It is possible though, a guy who lives around me has one on his civic, so it is just up to you if u want to spend the time on it.

The answer is no.

Get the turbo, sell it on ebay, and then use that money towards a traditional garrett t2 flanged turbo.

yea get it, sell it, and buy a t2 flanged. too much hassle for a vf39. nothing really special about those turbos anyways. there not even bb.
