My G37x is at the dealer now having it's first oil change and also had it 'reflashed' for its rough downshifts. My husband asked me to post a question. He wonders if there are any TSB's out there for cold start exhaust noises? It's always had kind of a rough sound when first started but, they said all the cars in the lot sound like that. My husband has been with Goodyear as a service manager for 28 years and knows that it just doesn't sound right. Any thoughts on this sound?

Pam, there is a TSB for 08 Gs with a rattle in main muffler. Thereis also a TSB for clicking noise from rear axles during acceleration on several models and years....it is 2TBo8-018bm hope this helps.

BTW, I just had my first service on my G37X. I had the transmissionreprogrammed and also told them the car was not pulling to theleft or right, BUT would not hold the center-line and was hoppingin tight turns (there is also a TSB for this)

The transmission fix was incredibly noticible....made a hugedifference. Now my car feels and shifts like a true luxurysport car.

The allignment was way off according to the technician. Againthis made a huge difference in the steering, cornering and evenimproved the ride. I highly recommend having them do the4 wheel allignment even if you don't think you need it.

Good Luck

There is a TSB on the Rear muffler getting replaced. It has been redesigned. It is in its 3rd series now. You can get it done if they'll do it.

I really think the TSB is for the muffler is limited to the G37 Coupe from early to mid year 2008. Although they may have added another model or two.

Depending on your VIN number there may be a reflash for the VVEL, but most of the time if that is there in addition to the TCM reflash they are both done one after another.

The car is going to idle in a very different manner than your 2004 coupe. The new G is designed to achieve closed loop operation in under a minute. To do this it may snarl and growl and have a fast idle over two grand on cold days. It goes down very quick and it will produce heat quicker than previous models. This seems to be an attribute of the VQ37 for the most part. That is not to say that you may not want to have something looked at just to make sure.

Yet again we should not be diagnosing noise that come from the engine over the internet.

I had the TSB for the muffler done and it still sounds the same to me. On cold start the car is very loud and idles at 1500 rpm for at least 30 seconds until the rpm start to drop and it becomes quieter. I don't remember my 03 G coupe doing this. However I'm used to fast idle on cold start as my RX7's would cold start at over 2000 rpm until warm or driven.
