I have a 2002 SE Maxima. Every time I put on the CD player and go for a drive down the nice roads of Hawaii, the whole left side of the car shorts out if I brake too fast. If I'm going slow enough, it won't even come on at all. Is it a problem with the circut board or is it the wiring from the speed volume? It has the Bose System in it also, all factory.

Ive got a similar problem with my 02 Infiniti I35. At stop lights when Im not moving, my woofer cuts out. If I hold the brake and keep the revs up a little, the woofer stays on. (I was told by the Infiniti dealer that my alternator/battery are as good as new, too)

But for you (I forget what the button is called) but its on the far right side of the stereo - the setup button (adjusts bass, treble, etc) In that menu, you can adjust the speed sensitivity or completey turn that function off. Try setting yours to off and see if that makes a difference. I have it set to off in my car because it doesnt work right - it worn turn the volume back up when you get going fast again after a stop.
