I don't see why it wouldn't...you don't need to remove the shifter to get the lower console piece out...you could probably just keep it out of the way. The real problem is getting the JDM double-din console units!

If possible, I'd omit the knob removal on the 6mt. I've heard that they get ruined when removed.

Its actually very simple to take these apart and pull out the unit.

Should only take 30-45 min. Just be careful as there are lots of plastic pieces on our cars and that means that they can break easily.

It's possible to remove the plastic around shifter and not remove the gear knob (on 03-04 models, i dunno about 05+). The plastic circle that the leather shift boot is attached to separates from the rest of the plastic. There is about 8 gold screws holding it from the bottom.
