Stereo Questions

2 quick questions about my car:

One, the stereo was stolen out of my car when the previous owner left it unlocked at his college. I was wondering if people had the stock wiring setup for it maybe?

Also, I noticed when I took the panels off the doors, that the speakers have a computer 'like' board behind it, and my first assumption was that the car has adjusting to road noise speakers. Another hint was that the speaker doors say "smartsound" on the speaker mesh. So anyway, I was wondering if this smartsound, if i is truly on the car(which it looks like it) will work with any head unit, or if it is only with the stock head unit(which I still have)

it sounds like you had the highest line radio on your car those are not road noise adjusters unless its an aftermarket system. those are speaker amps. nissan used bose systems in alot of its line since the mid 80's . I do not believe the speakers will work with an after market radio. I dont know the wiring set up off the top of my head. but if nessesary I can go pull the radio out of my geo metro and get the pig tail connector i built to plug directly from my factory harness connector to the radio factory connectors. but the 240sx radio I am using is the lower line stock radio.

I have a 93 hb and I just did some audio work.

Last week, when I was replacing the front speakers, I also noticed that computer-board type thing. I didnt really care what it was, I just installed the speakers. They work fine with the new headunit as well. But my speaker covers don't say "smartsound" it says "active speakers" or something like that. Also, the guy I bought the car from had already put a new headunit,(which I replaced) and it worked fine then. Based on my experience, I personally think that you'll be fine using an aftermarket headunit.
