Stereo Output blips in and out

On my Kenwood MP-919 head unit, all of the speakers will blip in and out on occasion. The sub and amp stay on, and they head unit itslef stays fully powered and fuctional. The EQ display even reads that there is sound being output. I've checked connections furiously, certainly this couldn't be something internal in the head unit?

check to see if your ground is completely secure, especially if the problem occurs more frequently while driving. plus if you start to turn the stereo louder and it does this, you may possibly either be overloading the amp or have a short in the speaker outputs of the amp it self. just check the ground first and then we can go from there
