I think you can use the Nissan '95+ harness. Why would Nissan change it just for the Versa?

OK, maybe I should rephrase that.

None of the audio sources I have read yet LIST a harness. That's not to say that Xterraversa is wrong, I simply don't think that any of the major audio outlets have actually put their hands on a Versa yet.

Tell me how to remove the stereo & I will check. My Xterra is in the shop for a while & I yanked the electronics out, including the stereo. If it is the same harness since '95, it should plug right in & work.

I just don't want to start randommly tugging on dash panels hoping they just pop out with out breaking. I can not find a panel held on by visible fasteners.

Hows about taking your car to a reputable aftermarket stereo installer and asking them, instead of hypothesizing and whatnot in this forum with people who similarly have no clue whatsoever? The car is too new and information to sparse for the average Joe to be able to offer any definite confirmation of any of the questions I've seen here, but then, I'm no aftermarket installation specialist. Just my 2 cents...

They have no clue either. I have asked two in Denver & they want to try the same thing I suggested with the '95+ harness. But for an instalation fee.

As a former retailer, I can tell you they're not going to waive the installation fee just to satisfy their own curiosity. They either want you to buy their services (they are a business, after all) or they're going to make you wait for Crutchfield to answer the question for you.

Yeah i have been to a few and they have even less of an idea than i do. I reckon you would be better off going down to your local Nissan dealer, one that has a repair section and see what they know...

regarding the Forgate audio package in the Versa you get "upgraded" speakers and a sub woofer.

The Sub woofer is located behind the dash in the lower consel, almost in the last location as the Honda Fit and Element. I'm waiting for JL audio to make a sealthbox for the Versa to replace the fosgate sub.

I have the SL currently the standard stereo sounds good, not great, but good enough until I can upgrade mine. I'll power the sub with a JL audio A1200 120x1 which would be good enough for me...
