nm, I just dove in,

for those of you interested...

the pins were what scared me, but I found you can just remove the metal box around the lcd, then you can GENTLY bend the lcd pins slightly so you can pull out the white difusor.. .

Image
the lcd color comes from 12 leds, which are kind of a b**** to get to with the lcd still attached, but whatever

Image
The red looks bad a**, but it does make it slightly harder to read the lcd, bad contrast for red, the picture shows none, but they are there, my camera doesnt see them though for some reason

I did this by accident. I wanted a aux input for my 09 versa. So I got a cheap Nissan Cube radio and installed it. My wife texts me the next day ealry in the morning when she drove that something is wrong since the radio lights were in red, lol. The Cube color scheme on the dash is red I guess,

Thats funny! I bet the cube radio is designed to better for red than the versa one. i like how it came out, but like I said, the lcd is not contrasted right for red :( Maybe I can get a good cube radio? Do the cubes have radios that can handle the blue tooth?

The thing with white, is it can just come out looking plain, it really depends on the application though. No legality issues with white though, and you can see with it really well, especially how dirty the floor is lol. white in the deck could be really bad a** though, if you do it, let me know, i wanna see! it can be tricky buying good white 0603's though, most of them are not very high mcd's.
