Oh, forgot to mention. I went to a comp a couple weekends ago. It was a MECA comp and, of course, they use the notoriously hard Linear X. Well, this one was a full 2.5db down from the LinX mic used at a show at the same shop a week earlier, so most everyone was adding around 2db or more to their scores and getting what they usually do. I competed in SR3, which is Street Reality. In the reality classes, the mic is placed at the headrest for a better reading of the spl experienced by a person in the car, so scores from that class are normally 5-7db lower than the other classes with same power/woofer area. That said, I did a 136.8db, which isn't very impressive untill you consider that was with a 35hz tone out of a trunk. A MECA world record holder, and good buddy of mine, said it would probablly correlate to a 145 or so on a good mic at the kick, where the reading is normally taken in MECA. With a little more tuning and a larger port tuned a little higher, i'm hoping for a 140-142. Either way, I'm sitting in 10th place overall, which is good enough for an invite to world finals.
