u may want to move this to the "audio/entertainment/security section of the general forum.

Plus give the color list of what radio wire went to what harness wire. I made a mistake in mines so that the radio can now be turned on w/out the ignition key :P likes it betta that way, but have to buy a multimeter & reconnect it to the correct harness wire.

Buy a harness from http://www.crutchfield.com and wire it into your head unit directly, solder and heat shrink everything, then plug the sucker up. Works perfectly.

The head should turn on, providing you have a good +12V from the battery, a good remote wire from the ignition switch, and a good ground. Try hooking up a multimeter to the battery wire. Use the positive probe for the battery wire and touch the negative probe to bare metal. Make sure that the battery wire is 12 volts. You can also use this one for remote. Then try doing the same thing but using the ground wire. Then hook it up to the head and see if it works.

Why not just use a harness? You can get it at Sears, Wal-Mart, Electronic Express, Circuit City, etc, it costs about $7 and will make wiring painless and make sure every connection is right. It's how EVERY install shop does it. Otherwise you risk frying alot of things.
