ive search and came up with nothing related.... theres nothing really wrong with my bose headunit, just that i know it can sound way better by upgrading the components. but ive searched and cant find a sure answer is i will need an installation kit for say, a double din reciever, or a single din in-dash.... i wont need a wiring harness because ill be able to wire everything up with the help of my shops mitchell on-demand wiring diagrams... but if someone can point me in the right direction, or maybe a site that i might be able to buy one from, that would be great....

all help is greatly appreciated... and thanks in advance...

I think a double-DIN will fit the opening pretty nicely. Check out crutchfield, they seem to have everything possible you could need. if you plan to replace the head unit you need a gimzmo to work with the Bose speakers or you''ll have to repalce those too. BTW, the head units were not made by Bose, just branded Bose..I think Clarion made most of them.

Head unit is pretty good.

If you switch to another, you will have to get an adapter for the Bose amplfiers and speakers.

If you really want to upgrade the sonic quality, you will have to rip everything out and start all over. Mucho bucks to do right.

I believe the factory brackets will fit on most double-din units.

I would get the wiring kit with the female connector and solder it to your new head unit's connectors. This way you can easily plug your old h/u back if you want to put it back someday (say to sell it).

yeah a double DIN will fit right in on the factory brackets...

Metra makes a plug in harness to wire everything up with instructions. cost me like $15 and they're universal to any nissan with bose, I think mine was listed for a maxima or something with bose.. What year car is this, because in 95 they changed to the "newer" style.. Not a big deal but you have to know where the years cut off for the metra harnesses.

nice thing about the harness it lets you use your factory wiring and plugs in so you dont have to hack up the factory harness, just unplug it and you can go right back to stock!
