stereo/clock problem

I have a problem with my clock and stereo. As for the clock; it works but turns off and resets everytime I open the door. The stereo doesnt turn on at all what are the things I should look for??

I didn't have a radio but I did have a problem with the clock resetting. It turns out I had a short, I took the console and trim plate off and found a loose wire that was powered and was making contact with the chassis, I taped it up and pulled my audio fuse and the problem was fixed. The previous owners did a number on my audio wires, it looks like a bowl of spaghetti under there.
