272's will not benefit him any with a stock valvetrain... you will just have more lag in the powerband for maybe 5whp on the big end. The 260's are more than capable for his application.BaliLover wrote:Since you have to take the head off to do the headgasket anyway, I'd say upgrade valve springs and go with some HKS Stage 2 272 cams.
There are substantial gains to be made by going with a better manifold design, this should not even be questioned.BaliLover wrote:You can have an external wastegate welded to the stock manifold, so that can save you some money too.
The Nismo FPR is not suited for high amounts of volumetric flow. The Aeromotive unit is far superior to the modified stock unit that Nismo sells and supports more power than the engine is capable of producing in this millenia. The result is a cooler fuel return (as in cold) and more accurately controlled fuel pressure.BaliLover wrote:Nismo 740s, Nismo fuel pressure regulator.
Easier does not mean better, but in this instance ROM tuning might be a good option but you will lack flexability if the ECU has issues with detonation or accurate tuning.BaliLover wrote:For engine management, I'd just have the car romtuned, its much cheaper and easier than a stand alone.
My idea of necessary is simply different from yours, it is my experience/opinion that the only way to do something is the best way possible within your means. If it means that I have to wait 3 more months to get the "ideal" setup then I will, and I will be faster, more reliable, and simplified as a result. To me... I would rather run an ideal 350rwhp than a rigged 400rwhp. Others, such as yourself, don't follow my opinion, but to each their own.BaliLover wrote:Your setup would be ideal, but its not totally necessary for his hp goals. he could save quite a bit doing it the way I suggested and be able to put that extra money towards a good LSD and some suspension and brakes.
Unless you are wanting to drift the 1.5-way is better suited for the 240SX.Nicksemianiw wrote:Kaaz 2 Way LSD 550 american

Go with the Enjuku pipe... it is a larger diameter and better suited for the larger turbocharger.Nicksemianiw wrote:Greddy Aluminum Hotpipe Nissan S13 SR20DET. 99.99
That is a bit of a waste honestly, I would just go with the UR underdrive pulley. It will underdrive the water pump, and it will give you better gains than all of those pulleys combined.Nicksemianiw wrote:Greddy Aluminum Lightweight Pulley Set for Nissan 240SX SR20DET S13 239.99
You can get a KTS downpipe from http://www.splparts.com for less with a flex section welded into it to prevent manifold cracking. It is a very nice piece.Nicksemianiw wrote:HKS 75mm Downpipe for Nissan 240sx w/ SR20DET 169.99
Go with the FAL 15" Single Fan, it is superior in flow both in rated CFM, and high speed radiator flow (twins have shroud that restricts the airflow through the radiator at speed, it's slim for fitment on FWD turbo cars like Hondas / DSMs). It also pulls less amperage and is cheaper.Nicksemianiw wrote:Flex-a-Lite Dual 12in. Electric Fan Kit Nissan 240sx 89-98 w/SR20DET 239.99
I'd spend the extra for the Greddy Emanage, it's a superior tuning tool.Nicksemianiw wrote:A'PEXi Super AFC II 339.99
I would just buy a used MAF, should save you an easy $250.Nicksemianiw wrote:300zx TT MAFS upgrade 350 american
Don't waste your time with 555's if you want 400rwhp. You would see much better duty cycles from the 740's, and you would benefit from a safety cushion if you decided later to upgrade further.Nicksemianiw wrote:Tomei 555cc Side Feed, High Impedance, Fuel Injectors for Nissan 240sx, SR20DET, 91-98 499.99
Yes, they are always beneficial, especially on a motor that is very picky about it's valve timing like the SR.BomexS13 wrote:would an aftermarket camgears make a differcne with NIsmo Freaks setup? Is it necessary? THanks
THanks for the reply.Nismo_Freak wrote:

GT series turbos pack about an average of 7-8% efficiency into the wheels. They have no spool up difference as I've said in the past, the reasoning behind the GT series is it's efficiency, as well as it's benefit in transient response.Projex240 wrote:

If you are getting Tomei cams then get the Tomei gears as well, they sell them as a package and you'll save a good amount of money vs. buying them individually.BomexS13 wrote:THanks for the reply.
What would you recommend? Im pretty much getting most of the stuff that you listed(1st list)but a different turbo.
What do you think of the GT25R turbo?
