Does anybody know where I can get step by step instructions on how to put a S14 SR20DET in a 1990 Nissan 240sx. Cuz my mechanic said he would do the swap for me if I had the instructions. (Major keeping it factory mechanic):helpWhere can I get step by step for an S14 Sr20det to swap into a 1990 Nissan 240sx

good luck with that one. you could MAYBE get good instructions on putting an S13 motor into an S13, but I didn't have any COMPLETE ones to go by. With some things you just have to go by the skin of your nuts...

Umm last time I checked that was an S13 SR into an S14 chassis. He needs the opposite.

If you had an S13 FSM for your 240SX and download the S14 SR FSM for the engine the swap would not be too bad.

I know when i first started looking into the sr i also was looking for a step by step install process, but never found one. When i do my swap im gonna take lots of pictures and wrte down the process step by step, except for the really obvious things. when im done hopefully we can make it a sticky for the newbies or whatever.

What may be obvious to you may not be obvious to others. I'm not saying this to be an a$$. Rather, some times I just don't know how to do something.

For instance, I didn't know how to get the Drive Shaft off of the transmission. Then someone told me to just pull it out. Duh! It's just that I've never done it before, so it wasn't obvious to me.

Good luck putting your page together, I look forward to seeing it!

driveshaft is connected to the transmission by 6 bolts on this weird 6 sided circle thingy, but you only have to unbolt 3 of the bolts (it sounds strange but if you look at it you will know what i mean)

if my damn computer was working (im on my brothers computer) i could put up about 55 pictures detailing engine removal (installation picture will come when the SR does :oface )

before i started my swap i wanted to take a million pics, and possibly do a write up. when the time finally came i was too excited. i had been reading and buying for far too long, i just wanted to do it. so, i ended up with before and after shots. that's about it. :D

but don't give up, it's a good idea

that is called a guibo joint.

if you want to really mess up a car, cut a slice down it....vibration from hell..

silvia's didn't come with the guibo joint. its the weak link in the driveshaft.shaun
