Thanks for inviting me, Gre. I've actually been registered for a year or so but I'm not mechanical so I don't even know the right questions to ask and haven't posted much, if at all.
Naturally, I'm pleased you guys were amused by my ad and it would give me significantly more pleasure if one of you genuine afficianados would buy the thing from me. Topeka is centrally located on the continent and within fair towing distance of just about anywhere.
Coincidentally, a guy came by this morning and looked at the thing. He lives here in town, has a '90 Q45 he's fixed up, likes them a lot. He tinkered with it awhile and I don't think it's the MAF anymore. Some throttle sensor, perhaps, or the fuel pump, maybe. Of course, he's read the ad and looked at the car and knows that starting the car is just the beginning.
Finally, with respect to truthfulness in advertising, what works and what doesn't, I'm not in the car business. I have a number of clients who are but I'm not a car dealer. As for this evental sales transaction, my definition of "works" is recovering some fraction of my expenditures and never, ever having the buyer come back and say, "you didn't tell me...." I advise my clients the same way and they tailor their dealings accordingly, making required disclosures and specific disclosures of known defects, or not, and in their calculation of business risk, factor that some of their time may be spent dealing with purchasers after the sale. I want none of my time on this deal spent that way.
Thanks, again, for the invitation, for the complimentary remarks and I figure I'll probably still lurk around in the capacity of former Infiniti owner, looking to take the fall again when the time is right.
