My OEM Steering wheel is pretty beat up. I want to replace it.

I was looking at aftermarket steering wheels... but what I want is something that does not have a hub that makes the steering wheel seat closer to how it is now. I found most steering wheel hubs push the steering wheel closer to your chest which makes an awkward driving position.

I am not opposed to OEM ones especially since I have cruise control switches... but what I am curious to know what steering wheels keep the distance the same.

Thanks.

NRG makes a short hub designed for exactly what you want. Its made so that the steering wheel is put back where OEM is and is not in your face. Also when shopping for the steering wheel don't get deep dish because that will put it out more towards you.

You can pick one up at weaksauceparts.com for $99. It fits sparco, momo and NRG wheels i guess. For nardi and personal it needs an adapter.

I am going with the NRG quick release hub man, it looked pretty straightforward ad far as installation goes and its a good price. I am switching to a manual when i do my engine swap though so Cruise control is not a concern for me, not quite sure what to do about that. NRG had some links to two button steering wheels but I am not sure about wiring and whatnot with the CC.

yeah thats a problem for me actually. its like someone took my profanity filter off when I drop the top. all my catcalling and screaming gets right to the intended recipient. I accidentally called a girl "jugs" the other day and she totally heard me, as did the guy who I told i would kick his balls right off his body when he wouldn't make a right on red when he had a open lane.

I am still searching for a good/cheap hub and QR, not sure if I can trust the ebay one. Do need to get it soon, tired of the wheel being so far away.

I personally hate the way the fake leather or rubber coated wheels feel. On my FC I have a Personal. The leather is very nice and comfortable. I use a normal QR to space the wheel b/c there is almost 0 offset on the wheel and when doing drift events I would hit the wipes and turn signals with my knuckles. For the vert I'll probably get another Personal Wheel Or a Nardi.
