Steering wheel vibration

My cars steering vibrates when the car is going 60+ miles and when hit the brakes, my dad drove the car and he told me its normal and is because the tires are too wide but i just need to make sure

Nothing to do with the width of the tires, all due respect to your dad ( unless you're running some 265's or wider). It's either you are out of balance, out of alignment, or have warped rotors. If it happens whenever you are above 60 mph, and not touching the brakes, it's either balance or alignment. If it happens only when you hit the brakes, it is the rotors.

Have a wheel balance done first and if that doesn't work then do the alignment and if it still shakes then replace the rotors. Don't spend more money that you have to. The wheel balance is inexpensive, alignments are more expensive but still not unreasonable annd replacing rotors is expensive.

I had the same problem on my I30 and a $15 wheel balance fixed it.

^^^^agreeeeed......Usually when there is a shake, it is either a quick fix with the wheel balance or it could even be a simple air pressure problem, but that usually wouldnt happen overnight.

guess i will do a wheel balance tomorrow i had the problem since i bought the car which is like a month ago, the rotors are in good condition tho thanks for the help guys
