my steering wheel vibrates at 60-65 miles per hour, and if i hold it with both hands passengers could see it less. If I hold it with one hand you can see my hand looks like its shaking. Anyway I have hs headers but i dont think this has anything to do with it. After buying the car and getting to know everything about it, turns out the right fender was replaced and the fender rail now has some rust building up. Sounds preaty ****in serious and expensive. Anyways, does this vibration show frame damage? Because if i cruise at 55 or less, 70-80-90mph, hell 100mph its smooth as anything, all vibrations are gone. Very weird but Im thinkin I have frame damage. Had the car for 20,000 miles and its been fine so I dont think it'll fall appart. When I bought it carfax said no accident history but at the time I didnt know about vins on body panels and didnt notice the passenger side panel does not have a vin tag, meaning it's aftermarket.

tires might be outta whack... try having them balanced. my car used to shake real bad at a certain mph (around 60) and smoothed out at around 75 too. having the tires balaced helped out alot... I still shake some but I'm pretty sure its my tension rod bushings. those are next to be replaced:)

most likely a tire balance/alignment issue. It's very common on all cars.

Check your T/C rod bushings.

PDM Racing has some nice urethane replacement bushings for $45 a pair.

"Increases steering feel, turn in, and braking response (less squirm under heavy duty braking) with this upgrade."

Can be found here.

sometimes TC rods may not be the case; i've been driving around w/ shot rods for years till i got it replaced w/ newer ones (outta a 91 from NC) last week...

look more into the outer tie rod ends... they don't have zerk fittings & when the boots go, it made my steering wheel wobble.

rotate your tires front to back, just to see if this goes away... maybe bad rims/out of balance wheels. Then, goto the tire place to get the tires' balance or alignment checked, if the rotation didn't reduce the vibrations...

I'll look into everything else. I don't think its my tires because I had this before I replaced the tires and when new tires were put on they were balanced. Suspension is the next thing i'm modifying so i'll probably end up finding out whats up.

Quote »One of the most troublesome bushings on the 240SX and 300ZX, this silicone filled "donut-shaped" bushing which is pressed into the Tension Control rod, is one of the first bushings that wears out. When it fails, the viscous filling will leak out, and corrode your front suspension's paint finish, and will cause erratic steering (especially at highway speeds). [/quote]hmm.. I noticed on the highway if I let go of the wheel the car will sometimes drift to the right, or sometimes drift to the left. It's either the brushings, or there is a slight slant for water run-off but I don't know if thats (the slant for water to run off) enought to make my car drift to a side.
