Looking for some help with my steering wheel, that's starting to peel :(. Tried search, but couldn't find anything related under leather or steering wheel.

I assume I'm not the only one whose steering whell is starting to shed it's beautiful skin, is there any options besides replacing the entire thing?

Looking for a quick answer as AZHitman will most liekly being seeing my Q in Cleveland the end of the month, and I want it to look it's best :).

I think your best bet is to have it re-done at a reputable shop that does leather car interior work. I've checked on this before, but most want the wheel removed.

Might be worth a call to these guys for a quote...

I don't think you'll be happy with a DIY wheel cover. Added one to my truck and pulled it really tight. Better than the plastic wheel, but nothing like the factory wheel in the Q - still slips on the wheel a little.

Have a leather Wheelskin professionally installed.

They rough up the original leather and add some slow-drying adhesive - It sticks great, and cheaper than having the wheel recovered.

I like the two-tone Wheelskin a lot, saw a couple on old Q's at Scottsdale Infiniti. Matter of fact, I'm gonna get mine done when I get back.

p.s. Rex - What night are you planning on being there?

I'll look into a junkyard replacement/take off, professional re-skinning and a wheelskin. With no real back up, can't be with out the car for more than a day.

AZ - I should get in town Friday night and stay thru Monday AM. I'm going to visit my friend, who's putting me up for free, so I figured we'd try NOT to get arrested Sat night at least.

AZ, maybe we could do my fuel pump swap in the parking lot?

I got one of those wood grain covers at walmart, and I like it...... It matches the factory wood almost perfect, and I think it feels better in my hands......

Sat night is perfect - I have another buddy from work coming with me, so it should work out well. I'll be at the Sheraton (hopefully) by 6:45 pm your time.

I'm in law enforcement - We won't get arrested. :D

BTW, last name is Childs (if I'm not in the lobby).

p.s. Ixnay on the fuel pump idea.:D
