Anyone know if its theoretically possible to swap the Rogue steering wheel out for the one in the 2011 Maxima? They seem to have all the same buttons (actually, the Maxima has one extra button, the back button for the radio/nav). But assuming I didn't care if that worked, does anyone know if the steering wheel and controls would work? The Rogue's isn't bad, but I love the Maxima steering wheel...

The simple answer is no for several reasons:

1) I compared the '09 Maxima manual to the Rogue. Although the steering wheel connector is the same, the switch wiring and assignments are completely different.

2) The paddle shifter functionality is actually built into the gauge cluster. You won't get working paddle shifters.

3) Mechanically, there is a very good chance the steering column is completely different and the steering wheel won't fit.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't actually concerned about the paddle shifters at all, but the switch wiring would be vital. Maybe if I can find a salvage '11 Maxima down the road, I'll take the risk, but its definitely not worth trying to get one new.

FYI:

The switches are nothing more than a simple switched resistance matrix. Depressing each button will produce a distinct resistance value that the radio reads. All you have to do is play with the Maxima switch wiring by modifying/adding resistors so that the values to correspond with those those in the Rogue steering wheel. The AV section of the manuals describe the resistance values used for each switch: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM
