steering wheel shake while idling...and other steering wheel problems.

Hi,

Problem #1My steering wheel/column have been shaking like CRAZY when im idling. It used to be smoooooth. Now its not.

Seems like the engine shakes alot at idle or something. When its running above 1k rpm, its REAL smooooth.

I first thought it was the engine mounts, i just had brand one news installed. Problem still there.

Im running SR20DET black top. Any idea what it could be?

Problem 2:On my other 240, the steering wheel squeaks when I go from lock to lock. POwer steering fluid level is good. Sounds like i need grease...if thats the case, where do i grease?

for the first problem, is it hitting on all 4?? does the engine actually PHYSICALLY shake big time as it sits at idle in the engine bay. If its misfiring it wont idle real smooth, but it wont cause the kind of thing your talking about, IMO...

For the second problem, you could try regreasing the ball joints on the outer tie rods... That could be what it is..... Best thing to do would be to get the car off the ground, get under it andhave a helper turn the wheel lock to lock to see where its coming from.......
