First make sure your wheels point straight or your steering wheel is level and right side up. That said, there are small phillips head screws on the back of the steering wheel. Get those and pull the center cover off. If you've got airbags, do this with the battery pulled and let it sit for half an hour to drain the remaining juice. You'll see your airbag unit at this point, and it's ready for you to pull (drain for 30 minutes at the very least, if you've been hit in the face with an airbag you'll know why I'm repeating this info on approaching it with caution). Behind that, you'll see the nut that's holding your steering wheel in place. Make note of it's position with a sharpie as to what it's vertical position is.
