I tried searching this again as I thought I found a good thread last month but can't dig it up again. I, like many, have a steering wheel peeling and generally in a little rough shape. Is there a way to just replace the control pods without doing the entire wheel? Are there good aftermarket options at a reasonable price? Steering wheel is about the only thing I'm not happy with on the car and where my hands are the whole time! LOL

You still under warranty? If so, it's covered under an ITB. Find my thread of things I had Infiniti look at recently and you'll see the ITB number.

Is it just the trim by the switches? If covered under warranty, the dealership will take care of it. If not, they just replaced the leathery type plastic covers with just black plastic trim, if it's the trim you're talking about. Shouldn't be too difficult or expensive to fix.

Yep, that's the part I had replaced under the ITB. The wheel itself might not be covered under that ITB but mine is in pretty good shape still.

See below. The whole wheel really isn't in the best shape. The thread I found before someone even copied a link for a carbon fiber aftermarket wheel but I can't for the life of me find it... doesn't help this site is blocked at work so I'm stuck searching on my phone. I wish they had this site on Tapatalk.

Yep, those are the same pieces I had replaced too, but I was under warranty. Take it in to see if they would honor it, or see how much parts are.

Yeah that issue is covered under the ITB if you still have warranty. I had that same issue, but mine was where the hand usually goes when you're just holding the wheel (at the bottom).

Are you looking for a steering wheel replacement / refurb (leather part you hold) OR replacement switch trim panels (peeling pieces)? Or both?

What color are the interiors? Is this limited to one color or have people w/ both colors experienced peeling? Mine looks great at 60K miles, it's the tan color.

Mine is Java but it has nothing to do with my interior. Unless your wheel is tan, all other colors have the same plastic trim I think.

Yes, my whole wheel is tan, the plastic around the steering wheel controls is tan, not black like the pics above. Hopefully it's different plastic and I don't have any issues :)
