Hey check this out:

Looks like the grain / color matches the OEM for earlier R50s.

I'm looking for a smashed up I30 to get this from -- hey, the airbag is the expensive part, and ours will fit.

Hey, what year is that? I like the interior looks a little bit better than mine.

And let me know if it fits. I think I want a wood wheel too!

Knowing Nissan, it's 100% exactly the same wheel as 99.5 - 01. The car pictured is a 99 I30.

I got to thinking that since our steering wheel is the exact same as Maxima GXE and GLE, that perhaps the Infiniti version of the car would be spruced up a bit. . so I found these on Autotrader. I'm sure it's not real wood like the 01+, but at least the color is a match

I replaced the steering wheel in my 97 240sx with one from a Silvia / Skyline / Terrano Regulus (wish I had kept it now haha), and it was easy. . I paid 45 for the wheel in brand new shape, including airbag, and install was very easy. I doubt this wheel would cost much at a salvage yard.

Well it solved my problem (cracked and degraded leather was annoying me) in a quick and efficient manner, so I must say YES it is FUELER RECOMMENDED (but a new steering wheel would be even better)

It looks good. . I think a new steering wheel can prolly be had for about the same price. . I just had NO idea that the I30 had a woodgrain option.

You should clarify! By "new" i think you really mean "used, 5-10 years old, but new to you" no way a brand new infiniti wheel is $40

So the steering wheel from a 99 I30 will fit a 97-98 QX4? Are we guessing or has someone done it? I'd love to have that mod!!

It's the same wheel, so I'm almost 100% sure that it will fit. Usually the only thing you need to watch out for is the spiral cable that controls the cruise, horn, and airbag. There's a hole on the wheel that needs to match up with a peg on that cable -- I changed the wheel in my 97 240sx, and it didn't match, but I was able to turn it a bit and hit a dif. hole, and it worked fine

worst case, you can make it work easily.

Actually, you could probably use about any other wheel in there. . if I could find a 97-99 Maxima SE or Q45t wheel, I'd use that.

Nah I'll hold off until my ostrich seats are installed.

You guys ever seen ostrich leather? Man, I'm sorry, but it gives me goosebumps . . I couldn't touch it.
