Steering Wheel Noise

I'm starting to hear a friction noise coming from the steering wheel whenever I turn the wheel, like a scraping noise between the steering wheel and the column.

Anybody else run across this, and if so, what did you do???

there is a service bulletin out about this noise, do a search because there a write up about it somewhere on this forum

I have this exact same problem!! I took my coupe to the dealer and told them about the bulletin, but the tech said the bulletin fix didn't work, so he replaced the spiral cable. The noise appeared to go away for a few days but came back. It's really frustrating because it just doesn't sound normal. I'm going back to the dealer next week. (Hopefully they'll figure it out!)

how about that.. I always heard it and just though I was being too picky of the car. Definately getting this fixed next oil change!Thats why i love this place! lol

I had the same problem, and the dealer actually fixed it on it's first try! Now if they could only fix my other 5 problems...

Bringing back the old thread. The spiral cable was replaced, TSB was done, and the steering column was replaced. The noise is still there. Any suggestions?

does this noise occure when you turn the wheel pretty much almost all the way to either the left or right????

When you rock it left and right. It only comes on after the car warms up or after 5 mins of driving.
